Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading engineering organisation operating within the water and wastewater sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanical professional to work on a variety of maintenance, installation, commissioning and repair projects across municipal and industrial water treatment facilities throughout the West of Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and maintaining mechanical equipment while supporting project delivery teams on site.


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

  • Service, repair and maintain a range of mechanical plant and equipment
  • Carry out fault-finding and troubleshooting activities
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns efficiently

Pumps & Mechanical Equipment

  • Work on a variety of pumping systems including:
    • Dosing Pumps
    • Centrifugal Pumps
    • Progressive Cavity Pumps
  • Service and maintain associated gearboxes and mechanical equipment
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems

Installation & Project Support

  • Install and commission mechanical equipment at water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Work with a variety of pipework systems including:
    • PVC
    • ABS
    • Ductile Iron
    • Galvanised Steel
    • Stainless Steel
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and site teams to ensure successful project delivery

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Adhere to current Health & Safety regulations and industry standards
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and housekeeping on site

Requirements

  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter (essential)
  • Experience in maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full Clean Irish Driving Licence

Desirable Experience

  • Water and wastewater industry experience
  • Industrial maintenance experience
  • Pump servicing and repair experience
  • Mechanical installation and commissioning experience
