QA / Technical Advisor – Food Industry | Mayo

Arcon Recruitment is currently recruiting for a QA / Technical Advisor to join an established food manufacturing business based in County Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance or Technical professional with experience in the food industry who is looking to develop their career within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Quality, Technical and Production teams to ensure that products, processes and procedures meet required food safety, quality, customer and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day Quality and Technical function
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality procedures are followed
- Carry out internal quality and hygiene inspections
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Maintain and update quality documentation and records
- Support HACCP and food safety management systems
- Assist with traceability exercises and product recalls where required
- Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventative actions
- Assist with customer complaints and quality investigations
- Monitor product specifications and quality standards
- Work closely with Production to resolve quality and technical issues
- Support supplier approval and raw material documentation
- Assist with environmental and microbiological monitoring programmes
- Ensure accurate completion of quality records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Provide technical and quality guidance to production employees
- Assist with training in food safety, hygiene and quality procedures
- Keep up to date with relevant food legislation and industry requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a QA, Quality Assurance, Technical or Food Safety role within the food industry
- Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management or a related discipline would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles
- Understanding of food manufacturing quality systems
- Familiarity with BRCGS, retailer standards or other recognised food safety standards would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Good problem-solving and organisational ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with Quality, Technical and Production teams
- Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
