Arcon Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Site / Operations Manager for a permanent position with a well-established operation in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
This is a hands-on management position with responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy site, including staff management, customer service, operational standards, health & safety and overall site presentation.
The position would particularly suit someone coming from a hotel, hospitality, leisure, facilities or similar customer-focused environment. Candidates who have managed busy operations, supervised teams and maintained high standards of customer service are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the site
- Lead, supervise and support the site team
- Coordinate staffing, rotas and daily operational requirements
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and site maintenance
- Ensure company procedures and operational standards are followed
- Manage health & safety requirements across the site
- Deal professionally with customer queries, issues and complaints
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and service providers
- Monitor stock, supplies and general site requirements
- Identify maintenance and operational issues and ensure they are addressed promptly
- Support recruitment, induction, training and development of employees
- Monitor staff performance and support a positive working environment
- Provide operational updates to senior management
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service and overall site performance
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a Site Manager, Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, Duty Manager, Facilities Manager or similar management position
- Previous hotel or hospitality management experience would be a strong advantage
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Experience managing staff, rotas and day-to-day operations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good organisational and problem-solving ability
- Strong understanding of health & safety and workplace procedures
- Ability to make decisions and take ownership of site operations
- Professional and customer-focused approach
- Flexible and hands-on management style
Hospitality Management Experience
This opportunity may be particularly attractive to an experienced Hotel Manager, Hotel Duty Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager or Hospitality Manager considering a move into another industry.
Many of the skills developed within hospitality — including people management, customer service, staff scheduling, problem-solving, health & safety and managing busy day-to-day operations — are directly transferable to this position.
