Overview

Arcon Recruitment is partnering with Sligo Rovers Football Club to support the recruitment of a Commercial Manager. Founded in 1928, Sligo Rovers is the largest football club in the North-West of Ireland with a strong community ethos, loyal supporter base, and exciting plans for future growth — including a new stadium opening in 2028.

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive commercial strategy for one of Ireland’s most recognised League of Ireland clubs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the annual commercial plan, including P&L forecasts

  • Set and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual commercial income targets

  • Manage existing sponsors and secure additional sponsorship revenue

  • Identify and onboard new commercial partners

  • Create a sponsorship tiering model to maximise commercial opportunities

  • Coordinate sponsor engagement activity and match-day involvement

  • Negotiate supplier contracts and ensure value for the club

  • Oversee invoicing, income tracking, and financial reporting

  • Maintain databases of sponsors, partners, and suppliers

  • Support match-day operations and administrative functions

  • Lead people-management tasks (KPIs, reviews, admin oversight)

  • Conduct ad-hoc commercial analysis and reporting

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in business development and sales

  • Proven ability to secure new business and grow revenue

  • Excellent relationship-building, networking, and negotiation skills

  • Strong administrative and organisational discipline

  • Ability to collaborate with staff, volunteers and committees

  • Motivated, target-driven, and strong work ethic

  • Business degree preferred but not essential
