Architectural Technologist – Commercial Projects

Arcon Recruitment is seeking a   Architectural Technologist to join a growing architectural practice. The role offers remote or hybrid working, with an office available in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

The successful candidate will produce and coordinate high-quality technical information for commercial projects in Ireland. They will use Revit to prepare construction drawing packages and detailed drawings, including details at 1:5 scale.

Applicants must have at least five years’ experience and a strong background in delivering commercial projects within Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of commercial architectural projects.
  • Produce coordinated technical and construction drawing packages using Revit.
  • Prepare accurate construction details, including detailed drawings at 1:5 scale.
  • Coordinate architectural information with multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Chair or contribute to design and technical coordination meetings.
  • Manage projects and technical packages with minimal supervision.
  • Review drawings, specifications and construction information.
  • Identify and resolve design, coordination and buildability issues.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, clients and specialist suppliers.
  • Ensure technical information complies with Irish building regulations and construction standards.
  • Respond to technical queries during the construction stage.
  • Support and mentor junior architectural technologists.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in architectural technology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years’ professional experience.
  • Strong Irish commercial project experience is essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit is essential.
  • Proven experience producing coordinated construction drawing packages.
  • Strong experience preparing accurate 1:5 construction details.
  • Thorough knowledge of Irish building regulations and construction methods.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Must be based in Ireland and have the right to work in Ireland.
