Arcon Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Technical Advisor – Food Industry on behalf of an established food manufacturing business based in County Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Food Science / Food Technology graduate or a candidate with previous Technical, Quality or Food Manufacturing experience who is looking to develop their career within the food industry.
Full training and support can be provided, making this an attractive opportunity for a graduate looking to gain practical experience within a Technical and Quality environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical, Quality and Production teams, helping to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet required food safety, quality, customer and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day Technical and Quality functions
- Assist with food safety and quality procedures
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HACCP procedures
- Monitor production processes and quality standards
- Carry out quality, hygiene and food safety checks
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Maintain Technical and Quality documentation
- Assist with traceability exercises
- Support investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions
- Assist with customer complaints and quality investigations
- Maintain and update product specifications
- Support supplier and raw material documentation
- Work closely with Production on technical and quality matters
- Assist with environmental and microbiological monitoring
- Maintain accurate quality and technical records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with staff training in food safety, hygiene and quality procedures
- Develop knowledge of relevant food legislation and industry standards
Candidate Requirements
We are interested in hearing from both graduates and candidates with previous food-industry experience.
Ideally, candidates will have:
- A degree or relevant qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Business, Quality Management, Nutrition or a related discipline
- An interest in developing a career within the food manufacturing industry
- Good understanding of food safety and HACCP principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a Technical, Quality and Production team
Previous experience in a food manufacturing, QA, Technical or Quality environment would be an advantage but is not essential for graduate applicants.
