Process Control Engineer required for our established client in county mayo. Weekend shift
Position Overview
This Operation support focused role will be responsible for providing technical support across an extensive variety of industrial control, process engineering & industrial IT systems. The successful candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining systems including Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI applications, robot systems, vision systems. Strong electrical and hardware knowledge is needed. Additionally, experience with SQL Server, batch software and/or a programming language such as C# would be a plus. This weekend position is based on site at our clients plant in Co. Mayo.
What you’ll do for us
- Providing support for the automated systems used in Operations.
- Documentation and communication of issues/fixes.
- Working with stakeholders to identify process improvements and fixes for the operations systems.
- Providing technical input and support for automation and process projects.
- Apply operational excellence tools and techniques to continuously improve our processes and eliminate waste.
- Communicates with multiple stakeholders, including, other engineers, Operation managers & teams and project stakeholders.
- Attend and co-ordinate frequent Operation meetings delivering concise updates on system issues and progress in their resolution.
- Externally, communicate with vendors and consultants who are supporting various projects and systems.
- Articulate technically advanced topics to non-technical team members at an appropriate level of detail.
Required work experience and education requirements.
- A recognised Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Recent and relevant experience of controls engineering support preferably in a food or process environment.
- Alen-Bradley Control Logix & SLC500 programming essential.
- Knowledge of control networks essential.
- Experience of Ignition, RSview or Intouch SCADA configuration.
- Electrical & Instrumentation expertise.
- Knowledge of recipe or batch software.
- Experience SQL and Industrial Historians is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience of delivering projects in a highly automated environment.
- A Team player with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Well-structured methodical approach to work.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Strategic in approach.
- Travel will be 5-10% approx..
