Arcon Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Accounts Assistants in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, on behalf of established clients.

These are excellent opportunities for candidates with previous experience in accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration who are looking to join busy and professional finance teams.

The successful candidates will assist with the day-to-day finance function and provide support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general financial administration.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will vary depending on the position but may include:

• Assist with the day-to-day running of the finance function
• Process purchase and sales invoices
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Bank and supplier reconciliations
• Process supplier payments
• Maintain accurate accounting and financial records
• Assist with VAT returns and other finance administration
• Support payroll duties where required
• Assist with month-end procedures
• Maintain and update accounting systems
• Prepare reports and financial information as required
• Deal with supplier and customer account queries
• Liaise with internal departments
• Provide support to the Finance Manager / Financial Controller
• General accounts and administrative duties

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator, Bookkeeper or similar
• Good understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
• Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
• Experience with Sage or similar accounting software would be an advantage
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a finance team

An Accounting Technician, bookkeeping or relevant finance qualification would be an advantage; however, candidates with strong practical accounts experience will also be considered.
