Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper – Knock / Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo
Location: Knock / Kiltimagh area, Co. Mayo
Working Hours: A three-day working week will be considered for the right candidate.
Arcon Recruitment is seeking an organised and experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper for a role based in the Knock / Kiltimagh area of Co. Mayo.
This opportunity would suit someone with a strong background in accounts administration or bookkeeping who enjoys a varied role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a business. Candidates seeking a three-day working week are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
- Process purchase and sales invoices.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare supplier payments and monitor outstanding customer balances.
- Assist with VAT returns and payroll administration.
- Support month-end reporting and liaise with the external accountant.
- Handle accounts queries and provide general administrative support.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- Good working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a practical approach to resolving queries.
- An Accounting Technician or bookkeeping qualification would be an advantage.
