Equipment Technical Submission Engineer – Mayo / Hybrid

Our client is seeking an experienced Equipment Technical Submission Engineer to join its pre-construction and engineering team.

This position involves converting mechanical design information into accurate equipment and ductwork technical submissions suitable for procurement, supplier review and client approval.

A hybrid or remote working arrangement may be considered for a suitably experienced candidate. However, applicants must have previous experience working in the Irish construction industry and be available to attend the Mayo office, project sites and client meetings when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project budgets in conjunction with the estimating team.
  • Review project procurement plans with the procurement team.
  • Examine drawings, specifications, schedules and BIM models.
  • Identify missing design information and issue Requests for Information.
  • Prepare equipment and ductwork technical submissions.
  • Issue draft submissions to clients, consultants and suppliers for review.
  • Coordinate technical information with external vendors.
  • Manage comments, revisions and resubmissions.
  • Secure final client approval for equipment and ductwork submissions.
  • Handover approved submissions to the procurement team.
  • Maintain technical submission trackers, RFI logs and document registers.
  • Ensure accurate document control and revision management.
  • Attend client and design coordination meetings.
  • Support site teams with equipment and design queries during installation.
  • Work closely with estimating, procurement, design and installation teams.
  • Manage technical submissions across multiple projects and deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the Irish construction industry.
  • At least five years’ relevant experience in HVAC, mechanical services, ductwork design or contracting.
  • Experience preparing technical submissions, equipment schedules or construction documentation.
  • Previous experience with an HVAC contractor, ductwork subcontractor or mechanical contractor.
  • Good understanding of Irish construction processes and project delivery requirements.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and BIM models.
  • Experience converting design documents into procurement-ready schedules.
  • Strong document-control and revision-tracking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of DW144 and SMACNA standards is highly desirable.
  • Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical or semiconductor projects would be an advantage.

Working Arrangement

The role may be offered on an office-based, hybrid or remote basis, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and location.

Remote candidates must be based in Ireland and available to travel to County Mayo and project or client locations when required.
