Arcon Recruitment is recruiting a Machine Operator for an established manufacturing company in County Mayo.
The successful candidate will set up, operate and monitor production machinery while ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Previous machine-operating or manufacturing experience is desirable. However, candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manufacturing machinery.
- Monitor equipment throughout the production process.
- Load raw materials and remove completed products safely.
- Adjust basic machine settings according to work instructions.
- Inspect products to ensure they meet the required specifications.
- Record production quantities, stoppages and quality results.
- Identify and report machine faults or product defects.
- Complete routine cleaning and basic operator maintenance.
- Minimise waste and support efficient use of materials.
- Follow production schedules and achieve agreed output targets.
- Comply with all quality, environmental, health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised production area.
- Work closely with maintenance, quality and production colleagues.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in industrial equipment.
- Ability to follow operating procedures and safety instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic numerical and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to identify and report equipment problems.
- Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts where required.
- Manual-handling or forklift certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
