Our client, a well-established and growing builders providers based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is seeking an Internal Sales Representative to join their experienced team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in builders merchants, construction products, engineering supplies, hardware, plumbing, heating or technical sales who enjoys working in a customer-focused sales environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quotations, processing customer orders, providing technical product advice and supporting trade and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Prepare accurate quotations for trade and commercial customers.
• Process customer orders from enquiry through to delivery.
• Price projects and prepare competitive quotations.
• Assist with tender enquiries and commercial pricing submissions.
• Develop strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new sales opportunities.
• Provide technical advice on construction and building materials.
• Work closely with the purchasing, warehouse and external sales teams.
• Follow up quotations and convert enquiries into sales.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Maintain accurate records using the company’s sales system.
• Keep up to date with products, suppliers and industry developments.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Internal Sales, Technical Sales or Trade Counter role.
• Experience working within builders merchants, construction supplies, engineering products, plumbing or hardware sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Good numerical skills with the ability to prepare quotations accurately.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy sales office.
• Strong IT skills and experience using ERP or sales management systems.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
