Job Description

Our client, an established hotel and golf resort in County Sligo, is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative / Business Development Executive to join its commercial team.

This is a proactive, target-driven role focused on generating new business and developing long-term relationships with corporate clients, event organisers, golf societies, tour operators and tourism partners.

The successful candidate will promote the resort’s complete offering, including accommodation, meetings and conferences, corporate events, golf days, weddings, group bookings and leisure packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new corporate, accommodation, conference, events and golf business.
  • Develop new accounts throughout Sligo, the Northwest and the wider Irish market.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, golf societies, event organisers, tour operators and tourism partners.
  • Manage existing key accounts and identify opportunities to increase repeat business.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, presentations and resort site inspections.
  • Promote the resort’s accommodation, meetings, conferences, corporate events, golf days, weddings and group packages.
  • Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals and market research.
  • Prepare professional proposals, quotations and tailored commercial packages.
  • Manage enquiries from initial contact through to conversion, ensuring timely and consistent follow-up.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, networking events and tourism-industry functions.
  • Undertake regional sales trips to develop new accounts and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Work closely with the Revenue, Marketing, Events, Golf, Reservations and Operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate client information, sales activities and follow-up actions within the CRM system.
  • Produce regular sales reports, pipeline updates and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor competitor activity, hospitality trends and emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets, KPIs and revenue objectives.
  • Represent the resort professionally and deliver an excellent standard of client service.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in sales, business development or account management.
  • Previous experience within hotels, hospitality, tourism, golf, leisure or events is highly desirable.
  • A proven ability to generate new business and develop key client accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills.
  • Commercially focused, proactive and motivated by achieving targets.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a regional sales territory.
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems, Microsoft Office and sales reporting.
  • An established network within the corporate, tourism, events or golf sectors would be advantageous.
  • A full, clean driving licence and access to transport.
  • Willingness to travel and attend occasional evening or weekend events.

Experience selling hotel accommodation, conferences, corporate events, golf packages, weddings or group bookings would be particularly beneficial.
