About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician with a strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to join our team in Mayo. This position is ideal for a qualified technician, mechanical engineer, or recent graduate eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a dedicated maintenance team, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and systems across our facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate seamlessly into the maintenance team, providing proactive support for operations.
  • Prioritize safety, quality, and productivity in all maintenance activities.
  • Deliver a reliable, proactive maintenance function through best practices, including preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and data using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Install new electrical circuits, containment systems, and participate in the commissioning process.
  • Repair, replace, and maintain electrical equipment as required.
  • Manage and maintain the electrical inventory, ensuring critical spares are available.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Conduct periodic testing of electrical circuits, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing principles.
  • Respond promptly to breakdown situations, providing emergency callout support when needed.

Requirements

  • National Craft Certificate in a related field (Electrical or Mechanical).
  • Proven mechanical knowledge, including experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Understanding of PLC controls (an advantage).
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Familiarity with using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
