IT Technician / IT Support Technician – Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Arcon Recruitment is seeking an IT Technician / IT Support Technician for our client, a technology business based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users and working with digital systems. The ideal candidate will have around three years’ relevant experience, although applications from IT graduates who are keen to develop their skills will also be considered.
The Role
You will support the day-to-day operation of IT systems and assist employees and users with technical queries. The position offers exposure to cloud platforms, digital identity systems, application support and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to employees and users through email, messaging, chat and video.
- Assist with the operation and improvement of digital identity systems.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure, service endpoints and data pipelines.
- Help test, document and roll out application integrations and mobile app solutions.
- Prepare and update technical documentation, support guides and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day IT support to on-site employees.
- Work with colleagues to identify improvements to digital platforms and services.
- Use scripting and automation to help simplify administrative processes.
- Support IT research and development projects.
- Assist with information security and certification projects, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
Skills and Experience
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT or a related technology discipline.
- Ideally three years’ experience in an IT support, technician or related role. Graduates will also be considered.
- Scripting knowledge or experience using Bash, PowerShell or Python.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based or Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to users.
- An organised approach and a willingness to learn.
- Exposure to digital identity technology would be an advantage.
Location and Commutable Towns
The role is based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo and may suit candidates travelling from Westport, Newport, Balla, Ballinrobe, Foxford, Swinford, Kiltimagh, Claremorris, Knock, Ballina and Charlestown,Belmullet depending on individual travel preferences.
