Arcon Recruitment, the longest established recruitment agency in Mayo, is currently recruiting for a Graduate Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a well-established construction company in County Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior Health & Safety professional looking to gain valuable site-based experience within the construction sector. The successful candidate will work closely with site management teams to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture across active projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct site inspections and safety audits
- Support the preparation of risk assessments and method statements
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company policies
- Assist with accident and incident reporting and investigations
- Maintain health and safety documentation and records
- Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks where required
- Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices on site
- Work closely with site management and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture
- Assist with health and safety training and awareness initiatives
- Support continuous improvement of health and safety standards across projects
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Full clean driving licence preferred
- Construction site experience would be advantageous but not essential
