Overview
Our Established client is seeking and Environmental Officer for their site in Co. Cavan
The purpose of this role is to support the environmental requirements at local level with regional guidance and consulting/admin support provided to business units within the operational area. A very strong emphasis on customer service, agility and responsiveness to the businesses needs across all Sg sites.
Operating Principals
The Environmental Officer is the point of contact for regional EHS , organising, and liaising with Local business units on the performance of site environmental activity.

Responsibilities:
- To provide local performance statistics, reports on environmental matters to regional team
- Support local business units with site environmental plans
- Provide local support on all environmental matters
- Review EPA communications weekly and respond/update where necessary
- Conducting environmental monitoring and ensuring environmental management and compliance with requirements
- Liaise / Support the local business with regulatory authorities (EPA, local Councils and community)
- Communicating advice on environmental matters and upcoming EU and National Legislation to local business unit.
- Co-ordinating and supporting the management of activities of consultants in relation to environmental tasks.
- Providing regional EHS with statistics, analysis on site performance
- The administration of regulatory systems e.g. EDEN
- To provide auditing support of operational facilities to assess compliance with management systems and regulatory requirements
- Support the submission of a range of regulatory reports including Annual Environmental Reports , Site Surveys, and any other reports as requested by authorities.
- Environmental training awareness for upskilling local teams.
- Provide necessary assistance in procurement of consultants and contractors, management of external consultants engaged on a wide range of projects
- Act as the point of contact for Regional EHS for all matters concerning including all business units, LFS, CP and PDM.

Requirements
- Environmental Qualification
- Strong ICT skills (particularly Microsoft Office)
- Potential Graduate role
Desirable work experience
- Ability to think clearly and act decisively when faced with challenge
- Experience dealing with EPA audits and supporting compliance improvement programs at pace and to a high standard
- Experience of investigating and reporting on root causes of adverse EHS events
- Experience of environmental best practices in respect of waste management, large energy, biodiversity, and remediation
- Excellent data analysis skills, enthusiastic and hands-on attitude.
- Ability to write detailed repair reports and good verbal communication
- To have strong presentation skills, coupled with ability to lead a large group of people.
