Arcon Recruitment are recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our client in Co. Sligo (commutable from many areas of Mayo)

Process engineer is responsible for the setup and optimisation of machinery, equipment, and moulds, ensuring efficient production processes. As a crucial member of our Partner’s team, you will contribute to the production of components used in various industries, including medical devices and healthcare.

Duties Performed:

  • Configure, calibrate, and set up machinery, equipment, and moulds for production.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Continuously review and analyse production processes for opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation solutions.
  • Monitor product quality during production and implement quality control measures.
  • Investigate and resolve any production-related issues or defects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to moulding processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production teams as needed.
  • Lead or contribute to projects aimed at process optimisation, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project execution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on equipment setup, process improvement, and quality control.
  • Strong technical knowledge of moulding processes, machinery, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in PLCs (basic principle understanding), Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Basic electrical principles, Solidworks, Methodology approach to trouble shooting, Interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office (word, excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Project management experience beneficial
