Delivery Driver – Castlebar

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver based in Castlebar to ensure the prompt and safe delivery of goods to customers across Mayo and surrounding areas. This role requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Operations

  • Load, unload, prepare, and inspect the delivery vehicle in line with company Health & Safety standards.

  • Ensure goods loaded match all delivery documentation.

  • Maintain accurate paperwork and obtain required customer signatures.

  • Operate the vehicle safely and professionally at all times.

Customer Service

  • Deliver a variety of goods across Castlebar, Mayo, and designated routes.

  • Follow scheduled routes and delivery times.

  • Provide friendly, professional customer service on every delivery.

  • Manage returns in line with company policies.

Security & Compliance

  • Adhere to company procedures regarding the security of stock, keys, phones, and delivery documentation.

  • Follow Department of Transport regulations and tachograph requirements where applicable.

Health & Safety

  • Carry out regular vehicle inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times.

  • Safely operate forklifts, including Moffett Mounty equipment where required.

  • Participate in ongoing Health & Safety training.

Teamwork & Flexibility

  • Support Yard and Stores operations in Castlebar when needed.

  • Adapt to new operational processes, including hand-held technology.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to Yard Supervisors and the Delivery Office to improve delivery efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Friendly, professional attitude

  • Full Rigid Truck Licence with experience

  • Moffett Mounty experience (advantage)

  • Ability to follow delivery schedules and maintain accurate records

  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
