Trade Sales Advisor – Builders’ Providers
Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Arcon Recruitment is seeking a Trade Sales Advisor for our client, a builders’ providers based in Castlebar.
This is an opportunity for someone with a background in builders’ providers, construction, hardware or trade sales who enjoys dealing with customers and helping them find the right products for their projects.
You will work with trade customers, contractors and members of the public, providing product advice, processing orders and supporting the day-to-day operation of the sales counter.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with enquiries about building materials, hardware and related products.
- Build strong relationships with tradespeople, contractors and other customers.
- Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
- Prepare quotations, process sales orders and maintain accurate sales records.
- Follow up on customer enquiries and identify opportunities to develop sales.
- Work towards agreed sales and margin targets.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and replenishing products.
- Liaise with suppliers and colleagues to check product availability and delivery arrangements.
- Keep the trade counter and display areas tidy, well stocked and welcoming.
- Work closely with the branch team to ensure customers receive a reliable service.
- Follow company procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a builders’ providers, hardware, construction or trade sales environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of building materials or construction products.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A practical approach to solving problems and responding to customer enquiries.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using computers to process orders, quotations and stock information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn about the company’s product range.
Candidates with experience as a Trade Counter Sales Assistant, Builders’ Providers Sales Advisor, Hardware Sales Assistant or Internal Sales Executive may be interested in this opportunity.
Location
This position is based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, and may be suitable for candidates travelling from Westport, Newport, Balla, Ballinrobe, Foxford, Swinford, Kiltimagh, Claremorris, Knock, Ballina and Charlestown, depending on individual travel preferences.
