Health & Safety Graduate – Construction

Arcon Recruitment is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Graduate to join an established construction company based in Castlebar.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Health and Safety graduate to begin their career within the Irish construction industry. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, the successful candidate will gain practical experience across site safety, compliance, inspections, documentation and employee training.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Health & Safety Manager with implementing company safety policies and procedures.
Support regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
Help prepare and update method statements, safety plans and other compliance documentation.
Maintain accurate training, inspection, incident and safety records.
Assist with employee inductions and toolbox talks.
Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
Help investigate workplace incidents and near misses.
Track corrective actions arising from audits and inspections.
Liaise with site managers, supervisors, employees and subcontractors.
Promote a positive health and safety culture across the business.
Provide general administrative support to the Health & Safety Manager.

Candidate Requirements

A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Safety or a related discipline.
Previous experience or placement experience within an Irish working environment is essential.
Knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and construction-site requirements.
Construction experience would be an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Confident communication and interpersonal abilities.
Competent in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
A full, clean driving licence would be beneficial.
Candidates must be available to work fully on-site in Castlebar.
