The Role
Our client, an established motor dealership in Castlebar, is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join its busy workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and professional customer service. The successful candidate will service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles while working to dealership and manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
- Complete repairs to engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension and other vehicle systems.
- Use modern diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and identify required repairs.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections where required.
- Maintain clear and accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Follow workshop health and safety procedures.
- Liaise with service advisors and workshop colleagues regarding repair requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
- Relevant motor trade qualification or completed apprenticeship.
- Previous experience working in a garage, dealership or automotive workshop.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with modern vehicle diagnostic systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full, clean Irish driving licence.
