Quantity Surveyor – Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Arcon Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position with an established construction company based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a growing business and take on increasing commercial responsibility.
Experience across residential, housing, social housing or commercial construction projects would be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and project forecasts
- Manage subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Prepare and assess tender documentation
- Carry out valuations and prepare payment applications
- Manage variations and change orders
- Monitor project costs against budgets
- Prepare regular cost and commercial reports
- Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
- Review subcontractor applications and final accounts
- Identify potential commercial risks and opportunities
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and senior management
- Support projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Ensure accurate commercial records are maintained throughout each project
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within the Irish construction sector preferred
- Experience in housing, residential, social housing or commercial projects would be an advantage
- Strong commercial and numerical skills
- Good knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and cost management
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Good IT and reporting skills
- Ambitious individual interested in developing their career
