Overview
An established and growing organisation within the hardware, plumbing and construction supply sector is seeking an experienced Customer Service Manager to lead its customer service operations.
This is a senior role responsible for managing the customer service team, improving operational processes, and ensuring excellent service delivery to trade customers and merchants across Ireland.
The successful candidate will work closely with the sales and operations teams to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and support continued business growth.
This position is based in the West of Ireland and may involve occasional travel to other company locations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Management

Lead and manage the Customer Service team to ensure excellent service delivery.

Oversee customer enquiries, order processing, and sales administration.

Monitor service levels and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.
Operational Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes and workflows.

Implement systems and procedures that improve efficiency and accuracy.

Work with management to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer & Sales Support

Build strong relationships with trade customers, merchants, and internal teams.

Support the sales team by ensuring efficient order management and customer communication.

Manage and resolve escalated customer issues.
Team Leadership

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to customer service staff.

Support team development and encourage a positive and collaborative work environment.

Monitor team performance and implement training where required.
Requirements
-
Proven experience in a Customer Service Manager or Customer Service Team Lead role.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and relationship management ability.

Experience managing customer service operations or sales support teams.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
-
Experience within hardware, plumbing, construction supply, or building materials sectors.

Experience dealing with trade customers or merchant networks.

Knowledge of ERP or order management systems.

Experience improving customer service processes or operational efficiency.
