Overview

A leading SME group based in Co. Sligo  is seeking an Operations & Commercial Manager with proven financial expertise to oversee multiple businesses, including retail, hospitality, distribution, and a residential property portfolio.

This is a unique senior role combining operational leadership, financial management, and strategic growth responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the business owner and finance team, taking ownership of daily operations and long-term development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations across diverse business units.

  • Assess and improve manager performance, including recruitment where necessary.

  • Manage mergers and acquisitions of small businesses.

  • Oversee budgets, cashflow, and profitability reporting.

  • Handle property purchases, sales, and related legal documentation.

  • Liaise with banks, solicitors, and licensing bodies.

  • Ensure smooth running of the business in the owner’s absence.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Operations Manager, Commercial Manager, or Senior Finance Leader.

  • Strong financial background (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • Track record of leadership in a fast-moving SME environment.

  • Excellent evaluation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of property transactions is an advantage.
