Overview
Due to growth, our client are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and within a team, have strong communication skills, and have strong leadership qualities. If you are motivated and eager to take your career to the next level our rapidly growing construction team will give you the ability to do so.
Candidate must have work authorisation and be eligible to work in Germany.
Health & Safety Advisor
Responsibilities:
- Provide support & advice to colleagues, subcontractor personnel and other third parties.
- Ensure all H&S policies are fully implemented on site.
- Check to ensure detailed methodologies are in place to cover all works under control to include risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all new employees, check all relevant training is in place and recorded on site.
- Preparation of site paperwork including Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, Inductions and Toolbox Talks
- Conduct regular inspections as directed in the Safety Management system.
- Ensure all plant and equipment inspections are up to date in compliance with legal obligations.
- Communicate to site management in order to close out issues
- Carrying out formal site inspections and audits and conduct regular reviews on any corrective action identified.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Staff Consultation – Deliver Toolbox talks. Consult with staff on RAMS briefings, lessons learned from audits or investigations, inform staff on permitting requirements and any other H&S information requirements. Compiling, updating and communication of site Emergency Plans
- Ensure proper reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses on site and assist with the investigation and implementation of corrective action to close out on same.
- Collecting and collating relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
- Provide a proactive approach to problem solving and to the various aspects of day-to-day health, safety and environmental management.
Essential Skills
- Excellent organisational skills to include report writing and records maintenance.
- Excellent reporting skills and proficiency in Word, Excel and reporting software
- Excellent interpersonal and report writing skills
- Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Ability to work well in a team
Education & Experience Required
- A relevant recognised EHS qualification
- 2+ years’ experience in a construction safety officer / advisor role
- Experience on industrial project sites such as manufacturing facilities or data centres would be beneficial in the role.
