Site Manager – Residential Development (Wicklow)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a major new residential development in Wicklow. The project consists of a 60-unit mixed housing and apartment scheme and is ready for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled construction professional to step into a long-term, career-defining role with an expanding and well-established building contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities
- Oversee site setup, ensuring all necessary facilities and services are in place
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members for smooth site operations
- Manage daily whiteboard meetings and two-week lookahead schedules
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Enforce quality control standards and project specifications
- Maintain a detailed site diary including subcontractor activity and personnel levels
- Liaise with the design team to ensure timely delivery of drawings and technical information
- Collaborate closely with the Contracts Manager on project planning and execution
- Attend weekly management team meetings and contribute to progress reporting
- Motivate and manage on-site labour and subcontractor teams
Candidate Profile
- Trade-qualified or technical background preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential construction
- Proven ability to manage housing/apartment projects from groundworks to handover
- Excellent understanding of Irish building regulations and construction standards
- Competent in reading construction drawings and coordinating with design professionals
- Experience working with utility providers and managing installations
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
