We are seeking an Accounts Assistant in Co. Sligo

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all employees with financial policies
  • Provide all relevant financial data to the Management Committee, commercial team and other employees
  •  Ownership of month-end and year end accounts preparation including account reconciliations and co-ordinate audit and financial statement preparation with the auditors
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded on a prompt basis for all income and cost items to ensure management accounts accuracy
  •   Ownership of weekly payroll calculation and processing
  • Work with commercial team to ensure invoicing is generated on a prompt basis
  • Ownership of credit control process and ensuring that overdue debts are addressed with appropriate senior management engagement as necessary
  • Managing all master data elements of the finance function including the set-up of new suppliers and debtors
  • Coding of supplier invoices, accounting for costs on a prompt basis and arranging supplier payments
  • Ensure the company is complying with all submissions, filings and payment obligations with relevant authorities
  •  Be the primary point of contact for queries received relevant authorities including the Revenue, CSO, FAI, UEFA and other regulatory bodies
  • Tracking of income and costs and providing explanations for variances versus Budget and prior year
  • Provide administrative support to  the management team
  •   Conduct ad hoc analysis to identify areas for profit improvement and negotiate with suppliers
  •  Work as part of a team and perform ad hoc duties as required

Key Requirements

  • Qualified accounting technician or part-qualified accountant preferred
  • Experience in preparing monthly management accounts
  • Experience in payroll processing
  • Experience in dealing with all Revenue (tax) submissions and dealing with associated queries
  • Experience in Sage accounting system is preferred
  • Experience in creating trackers and analysing financial information
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • Dedicated to providing user friendly and useful information
  • Strong work ethic
