Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Foreman (Civils / Electrical)) to join our clients established Team.
While the project foreman has a broad scope of responsibilities that include planning, coordination, and administrative tasks, they are also deeply involved in the hands-on aspects of the job.
Reporting to Project Manager in the Midlands, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated with excellent project management, planning and scheduling skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the crew, ensuring they adhere to schedules and project plans.
- Help with specific tasks especially if they are complex or critical activities that require additional expertise.
- Conduct inspections personally to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
- Actively monitor safety practices on site and intervene directly to correct unsafe behaviors.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the project’s specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with the team to integrate various aspects of the project ensuring smooth collaboration among different trades and activities.
- Facilitate clear communication and cooperation by being present and involve din daily activities.
The candidate shall have the following:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing clear direction and support.
- Capable of making quick, informed decisions, often under pressure.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and clients.
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with crew members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Efficient in planning and managing time to ensure project milestones are met.
- Meticulous in ensuring work meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and address unexpected challenges promptly.
- Ability to monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
- Ability to mentor and develop workers, fostering their growth and skill development.
- Capability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong technical understanding of the electrical construction/utility industry
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying project goals and updates.
- Strong people skills
- Excellent IT skills using Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel.
