Overview
Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant with experience in the construction industry to join their Finance team in Co. Mayo. The successful candidate will play a crucial role as part of our finance team ensuring the efficient operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Process supplier invoices (3-way matching) and track expenses.
- Maintain Excel spreadsheets to allocate costs to correct sites, including bulk upload on COINS, and reconcile with payments.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Match sub-contractor payment certificates with invoices and prepare monthly and weekly payment reports
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- General administrative tasks related to the finance department.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role preferably within the construction or building industries.
- Relevant accounting qualification.
- Knowledge of RCT Tax, CWPS and construction industry standards is highly desirable.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., COINS) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess the right to work in Ireland and be within a reasonable commuting distance of Mayo offices.
