Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join a well-established consultancy based in Galway City.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS to work on a diverse range of projects across the West of Ireland, ideally suited to candidates with a consultancy / professional services background.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cost planning, budgeting, and financial control across projects
- Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract administration
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering
- Manage procurement processes and contractor selection
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with client expectations
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in a PQS / consultancy environment
- Strong knowledge of cost management and contract administration
- Experience working on commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable
- Chartered status or working towards (SCSI / RICS)
- Experience with Irish construction contracts and regulations
- Proficiency in cost management software
