Position: Accountant – Construction Sector
Location: East Galway / Galway City

Arcon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant on behalf of our client, a long-established construction company based in East Galway. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in the construction or engineering industry, looking to work within a well-structured and progressive organisation.

This position is open to candidates based in Galway City or East Galway, offering a convenient location and excellent long-term prospects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, monthly reporting, and year-end financial statements.

• Manage project budgets, costings, and forecasts for multiple construction projects.

• Oversee RCT, VAT, and payroll submissions in accordance with Revenue guidelines.

• Conduct reconciliations and support the audit process.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.

• Assist with process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent).

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within construction or civil engineering.

• Strong understanding of RCT and VAT.

• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.

• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
