Overview

Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant with experience in the construction industry to join their Finance team in Co. Mayo. The successful candidate will play a crucial role as part of our finance team ensuring the efficient operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process supplier invoices (3-way matching) and track expenses.
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets to allocate costs to correct sites, including bulk upload on COINS, and reconcile with payments.
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Match sub-contractor payment certificates with invoices and prepare monthly and weekly payment reports
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • General administrative tasks related to the finance department.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role preferably within the construction or building industries.
  • Relevant accounting qualification.
  • Knowledge of RCT Tax, CWPS and construction industry standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., COINS) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess the right to work in Ireland and be within a reasonable commuting distance of Mayo offices.
