Overview

Due to continued success, our client are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will report on a project basis to the project manager.

Overview of Duties:

  • Assist in researching suppliers and selecting plant & equipment that meets the project design specifications and making Technical Submittals to the design team for approval.
  • Assist in the Project Quality Management on-site through reviewing benchmarks and conducting quality checks throughout the project. Attend quality meetings and ensure quality plan is always relevant and up to date.
  • Inspect all works for compliance with safety requirements, technical specifications, and compliance with design. Create weekly Site Progress Reports on all project progress, risks, and issues for the Project Manager and Client.
  • Evaluate impact of RFI responses and assist in ensuring that all works are carried out to the latest drawings and specifications.
  • Review and answer technical queries from site in relation to specifications, drawings, materials, and equipment.
  • Assist with snag & variations management by flagging any issues on site and raising it with the relevant person and working with the project QS to submit costs for any additional works.
  • Create and develop test packs for Mechanical systems from the agreed systems list capturing all material data, weld logs, isometric piping drawings, heat certificates, pressure testing, NDT etc. and create the system boundaries.
  • Conduct System Walkdowns to develop and maintain project systems P&IDS and to ensure systems compliance such as LPHW, CHW, DWS, HVAC etc.
  • Plan and prepare all testing & commissioning data in line with the commissioning plan including sign-off of testing parameters and collection all certifications on completion.
  • Assisting with post-project handover to clients including the preparation of the Operations & Maintenance Manual for all systems and demonstrating new systems to client where necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Construction.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical specifications, regulations and standards, P&ID’s & drawings.
  • Previous trade background or construction experience would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent IT skills required. Experience with Revit would also be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisation, planning and communication skills. Strong ability to work well with a team.
