An exciting opportunity has arisen for Production/Yard Manager for our established client in Mayo

As Production/Yard Manager, you will report to the Directors and Senior Management. Your responsibilities will include the overall control of the company yard and daily production activities.  You will work closely with all relevant departments and sub-contractors. The applicant must have experience working in a busy environment with similar experience preferred and be proficient in computer skills and CMS systems.

Principal Duties:

  • Planning of all production activities relating to concrete manufacturing.
  • Ensuring all production and quality targets are achieved.
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
  • Day to day management of the operations on site and responsible to manage labour and sub-contractors and all personnel on site.
  • Help manage projects in line with the agreed production targets.
  • Manage workflow of sub-contractors to ensure they are in line with the programme of works on site.
  • Setting productivity goals for production team.
  • Scheduling repair and maintenance of all processing equipment.
  • Maintaining and updating all relevant documentation.
  • Work closely with all relevant departments of the business, including maintenance, finance, civils, and transport.
  • Stocktaking and inventory control.
  • Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff
  • Manage, lead, and train the team to ensure full compliance with operational procedures. Implement Rota’s and manage leave, task allocation and compliance.
  • Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety, by fully compliant with company health & safety policies, procedures, systems, and rules. Report all hazards and incidents and ensure that you and the team always work safely.
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety team  to ensure all works in the yard are undertaken in accordance with safe working practices and current Health and Safety legislation, including the work of sub- contractors, whilst maintaining good housekeeping practices

Skills/Experience

  • Capability to work effectively and implement change.
  • Adept at managing projects independently as well as working with other business functions.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, fluent in English.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Quality focused.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise under pressure.
  • Experience is desirable in Construction / Manufacturing / Engineering is
    beneficial.
  • The successful candidate should have a proven background in concrete production with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing and equipment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team.

Working Days – Monday to Friday (Occasional  Saturday work –  8am to 1pm).
