Overview
Our client, a leading sports/fashion retailer in Ireland, are seeking to recruit a Buyer.
This role can be based out of their Castlebar or Galway office.
You will need:
- A good knowledge of the sports business and a keen in interest in sports fashion
- Previous experience in a similar buying role is preferred
- Be goal‐driven – You’ll select, range plan and implement a go-to-market strategy for must‐have sports accessories
- Achieve all sales, margin and stock turn targets as set out by the business
- Total organisation – You’ll have perfect attention to detail when managing your categories and ensuring information is tracked and fed down to the business as required
- Excellent communication skills – Work closely with all departments in the business as well as with our suppliers
- Collaborative Approach – Partner with Ecommerce, marketing, merchandising and operations to ensure our strategies and plans are executed to the best possible standards
- Commercial Awareness – Understand our strategy, our customers and our target consumer
- Propose price action and stock movements in accordance with the company policy
- Reviewing supplier availability and planning intakes accordingly with the team
- Building supplier/brand relationships and creating strategy plans to align with company strategy
- Manage development plan for team members supporting with objectives and coaching
- Managing workload and output where required.
Skills:
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external teams
- Be confident, motivated and can work independently
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- An ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Full licence – You will visit stores regularly to offer support and acquire feedback on the direction of the category
