Overview
We are looking for an experienced Sourdough Baker who is dedicated to the craft of baking and has a deep understanding of the sourdough process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality sourdough bread, maintaining consistency, and adhering to the traditional baking techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourdough Bread Production: Prepare, mix, and bake sourdough bread and related products according to established recipes and standards.
- Starter Maintenance: Manage and maintain sourdough starters to ensure a consistent and high-quality product.
- Dough Preparation: Accurately measure, mix, and knead dough, ensuring correct fermentation and proofing times.
- Baking: Operate ovens and other bakery equipment to bake products.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of all products, ensuring they meet our standards for texture, flavour, and appearance.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and availability.
- Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional baking experience, with a strong focus on sourdough.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of sourdough fermentation, proofing, and baking processes.
- Skills: Proficiency in mixing, shaping, and baking various types of sourdough bread.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce consistent results with high standards of quality.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy ingredients or products.
Working Hours:
– Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with shifts that may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
